12V ultrasonic antifouling system for boats
A preventive hull-maintenance system designed to help limit marine fouling attachment using bonded ultrasonic transducers. Compare the 1-, 2- and 4-transducer kits below, then check your hull construction and installation plan before ordering.
- Choose your kit: one controller with 1, 2 or 4 transducers; compare the included signal and extension cables in the package table below.
- Check hull suitability: the manufacturer lists solid fiberglass, aluminum and steel. Cored construction needs an installation assessment; wooden and plastic hulls are excluded.
- Plan the installation: a charged 12V DC supply, a clean solid bonding surface and suitable marine epoxy are required. Remove existing fouling before use.
- Keep routine maintenance: this system is a preventive aid; inspection and appropriate hull cleaning remain necessary.

12V ultrasonic antifouling for vessel maintenance
The SFUAS1 system sends 20–45 kHz ultrasonic pulses through bonded transducers. It is designed to help limit the attachment of marine fouling on suitable hull and drive surfaces. Choose the one-, two- or four-transducer package for your installation plan.
Choose your package
Each option includes one control unit bearing the selected model number. The supplied transducers and cables are listed below.
| Model | Transducers | Signal cables | Extension cables |
|---|---|---|---|
| SFUAS1-01 | 1 | 1 | 0 |
| SFUAS1-02 | 2 | 1 | 0 |
| SFUAS1-03 | 4 | 4 | 2 |
The SFUAS1-02 option is supplied with one signal cable. Check the cabling needed for your intended transducer positions before installation.
Automatic operation and power management
- Nominal supply: 12V DC.
- Ultrasonic frequency range: 20–45 kHz.
- Signal cable length: 4.6 m / 15 ft.
- Automatic calibration on startup; transducer activity is indicated by the controller LEDs.
- Battery-dependent operation: normal output at 12.7–18.0V, reduced output at 12.0–12.6V and sleep mode below 12.0V. Maintain an appropriate charged 12V supply.
- Manufacturer protection ratings: controller IP67; transducers IP68. Mount the controller above the waterline.
Dimensions
- SFUAS1-01 / SFUAS1-02 controller: 103.6 mm wide × 153.2 mm high × 61.2 mm deep, as drawn.
- SFUAS1-03 controller: 220.1 mm wide × 110.2 mm high in the front-view drawing.
- The transducer and connector-clearance dimensions are shown in the dimension image. Allow space for connected cables and access to the locking rings.
Installation and suitability
Placement depends on hull construction, vessel layout and the surfaces to be treated. The manufacturer identifies solid fiberglass, aluminum and steel as suitable hull materials and excludes wooden or plastic hulls. Wood, foam and air gaps interrupt ultrasonic transmission; cored structures need a suitable installation assessment. Drives and rudders isolated from the hull may need dedicated transducer positions.
Remove existing fouling before use. Prepare a clean, solid bonding surface and bond each transducer directly with suitable marine epoxy, avoiding gaps and bubbles. Allow the adhesive to cure as directed; the installation procedure specifies 24 hours. Route cables securely and follow the installation manual for electrical connections.
This is a preventive maintenance aid. Results depend on installation and operating conditions; routine hull inspection and appropriate cleaning remain necessary. Gallery installation photographs show manufacturer examples, including a drive mounting location.
