Deck installation planning

  1. Choose the cleat to match the required line use and an independently confirmed load specification.
  2. Check the deck structure and access underneath. Confirm all fixing positions, fastener sizes and backing requirements with the actual cleat and installer.
  3. Leave room for both arms to fold, the line to be handled and the mounting area to be inspected.
  4. Inspect the cleat, hinges, fasteners and deck support before use. Obtain a suitable working-load specification before choosing it for a load-bearing installation.
